Un percorso tra storia e leggenda alla scoperta della Genova medievale, crocevia di guerrieri e mercanti: se logge e torri identificavano gli spazi dei clan familiari, l'arco di Sottoripa con il Palazzo del Mare, la cerchia delle mura e gli svettanti campanili delle Vigne o di San Lorenzo incarnavano lo spirito civico di una città, che pur proverbialmente lacerata da una feroce conflittualità interna, ribadiva con orgoglio il suo status di protagonista. Finestre, sculture e bassorilievi illustrano non meno delle sue leggende lo stato d'animo della “Superba”: il Tesoro della sua cattedrale, con l'inestimabile Santo Graal riportato dalla Terra Santa, esibisce, ora come allora, il desiderio di avventura e di orizzonti aperti che caratterizza i genovesi.
