Partendo dal “meretricio” medioevale alle case chiuse, la narrazione si snoda incuriosendo ed emozionando. Segni ancora visibili di un mondo che non c’è piú scolpiti nel marmo, nel legno dei portoni oppure raffigurati su una facciata. Simboli che riaffiorano a testimonianza di storie intriganti ma al tempo stesso dense di profonda umanitá. Un percorso curioso e seducente che condurrá in un mondo dimenticato nel tempo attraverso le testimonianze di chi, invece, in prima persona lo aveva vissuto.
“Arrangiatevi!” grida Totò, affacciandosi dalla finestra di un appartamento che, prima dell’entrata in vigore della Legge Merlin, era una nota casa di tolleranza, rivolgendosi a un gruppo di uomini speranzosi in una riapertura clandestina. Le “case” più lussuose caratterizzate da un arredamento molto particolare vennero riconvertite in civili abitazioni assai più difficilmente di quelle più popolari, come era ad esempio quella di Vico del Pomino.
